MealPlanet Secures $6M to Fuel Expansion in Saudi Arabia

The UAE foodtech startup MealPlanet has successfully raised $6 million in a seed funding round, positioning itself for significant growth, particularly with an eye on expanding into Saudi Arabia. This innovative platform is set to revolutionize meal planning and delivery, addressing a notable gap in the region’s technology solutions for nutritious eating.

MealPlanet Secures Funding for Growth

Based in the UAE, MealPlanet has attracted attention from prominent regional venture capital firms, including Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP), AlTouq Group, Sanabil 500, Faith Capital, and Alturki Ventures. Notable entrepreneurs Marc Lore and Samih Toukan also contributed to the funding, underscoring the startup’s potential. Founded in 2024 by Khalid Baareh, MealPlanet is designed to address the foodtech sector’s pressing needs.

MealPlanet stands out as the first meal plans delivery app in the UAE, providing consumers with easy access to a diverse range of meal brands. This platform empowers users to explore, subscribe to, and manage meal plans effortlessly, requiring only a few taps on their devices. Baareh expressed enthusiasm about the backing from leading investors, stating, “We are thrilled to be backed by leading venture capital firms that share our vision and actively support our growth.”

Expanding to Meet Market Demand

The funds raised will play a crucial role in facilitating MealPlanet’s ambitious expansion plans while enhancing its proprietary technology stack. Baareh highlights the goal of leveraging artificial intelligence to improve and personalize the user experience. He stated, “We are focused on digitizing the meal plans delivery experience in the Middle East, providing consumers with unparalleled convenience, variety, and flexibility.”

Currently, MealPlanet collaborates with over 100 brands, including well-known names like Prep & Co, Basiligo, and Health Road. The array of offerings ensures that users can find healthy options tailored to their tastes and preferences. Walid Mansour, Co-founder and Co-CEO of MEVP, remarked on the rising demand for health-conscious eating, noting, “We see a huge opportunity in the growing meal planning market, fuelled by the rising demand for healthy and convenient eating options.”

Future Plans for Regional Expansion

In addition to strengthening its position within the UAE, MealPlanet is setting its sights on regional expansion, with Saudi Arabia identified as the next focus. Plans are in place to launch in the kingdom by the first quarter of 2025, marking a significant step in broadening its market reach. The expanded operations aim to meet the increasing appetite for innovative meal solutions in the region, ensuring that MealPlanet remains at the forefront of the foodtech landscape.

With a dedicated team and a robust platform, MealPlanet is poised to lead the charge in the meal planning and delivery sector, marrying technology with nutrition in an effort to promote healthier lifestyles across the Middle East.
