Dubai Police Warnings
In the aftermath of the accident, the Dubai Police General Command issued warnings regarding the dangers of stopping in the middle of the road. They stated that it is crucial for drivers to ensure the safety of their vehicles before heading out and noted that violating the rule against stopping in the middle of the road can incur a fine of up to 1,000 dirhams and six traffic points. Additionally, Article (98) concerning obstructing traffic was enforced, resulting in a fine of 500 dirhams.
Officials’ Statements
Brigadier Issam Ibrahim Al-Awar, Acting Director of the General Traffic Department, stated that stopping in the middle of the road is one of the most dangerous traffic violations, as it can have catastrophic consequences leading to serious accidents and severe injuries. Al-Awar added that drivers should contact the police in case their vehicle breaks down to ensure their safety and the safety of others by taking necessary measures, such as securing the vehicle with police patrols.
Actions Taken After the Accident
After receiving the report of the accident, experts from the Traffic Accidents Department and patrols from the Jebel Ali Police Station immediately rushed to the scene. Traffic flow was organized and the area secured by traffic patrols, and efforts were made to remove the damaged bus to restore normal traffic conditions. Brigadier Al-Awar emphasized the importance of taking safety precautions, such as using warning signals and securing oneself and passengers.
