In a move that builds on the remarkable success and overwhelming interest in the inaugural issuance of the Government Treasury Bonds for individuals, the Ministry of Finance has announced the launch of the second issuance of the programme, offering a five-year term. This initiative aims to enhance the participation of citizens and residents in sovereign investment instruments, further solidifying the UAE’s position as a global financial hub and a leading destination for Islamic financing.
Enhancing Financial Inclusion and Long-Term Investment Culture
This issuance embodies the comprehensive financial vision of the Ministry of Finance, focusing on promoting financial inclusion and fostering a culture of long-term saving and investment. Coinciding with the goals of “Family Year 2026,” the programme provides a highly secure investment instrument that complies with Islamic law and is fully backed by the UAE government. With a minimum subscription of just AED 1,000, the initiative is designed to enable various segments of the society to access these sovereign investment opportunities.
A Strategic Advancement for All Community Segments
According to the Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Mohammed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, “The Government Treasury Bonds programme for individuals represents a strategic step to empower diverse segments of the community, including citizens and residents, by granting them the opportunity to invest directly in sovereign instruments that are compliant with Islamic law and supported by the UAE government. This programme not only serves as a government financial tool but also stands as a fundamental pillar for supporting long-term financial planning and cultivating a culture of secure saving and investment. This directly aligns with the objectives of ‘Family Year 2026’ in building a more sustainable financial future for individuals and families in the country.”
Commitment to Financial Innovation and Market Growth
He further added, “With the launch of this second issuance, offering a five-year term and an accessible minimum subscription amount, the Ministry of Finance reaffirms its commitment to continuous financial innovation and the development of local capital markets, while expanding the investor base in government debt instruments denominated in UAE dirhams.”
