Continuous Growth in Charitable Initiatives

Mohammed Rashid bin Baya, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Charity Association, emphasized that internal assistance programs are essential components of the charity’s humanitarian efforts. He noted that the significant amount of 77.2 million dirhams in internal aid reflects the continuous expansion of charitable initiatives aimed at including as many beneficiaries as possible. This approach aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to enhance the values of solidarity and compassion within the community.

Monthly and Urgent Assistance for Families

Seasonal Campaign Initiatives

Regarding seasonal campaigns, Bin Baya noted that the association allocated 15 million dirhams for the Ramadan and Eid al-Adha campaigns. This funding encompassed projects such as iftar meals, Eid clothing distributions, and the distribution of sacrificial meat to eligible families. Additionally, the “Feeding the Hungry” initiative incurred costs of 2.5 million dirhams, further contributing to the well-being of the community.

Special Committee for Citizen Applications

As for direct assistance to citizens, the Sharjah Charity Association reported 7.8 million dirhams in support during the same period, benefiting 644 low-income citizens. Bin Baya highlighted that a special committee has been established to review citizen applications, ensuring that aid reaches deserving recipients transparently and equitably.
