In an ambitious move to further environmental sustainability in agriculture, the Abu Dhabi-based waste management group, Tadweer, has launched the second edition of its initiative “Our Farms are Sustainable”. This programme underscores the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable farming practices and efficient waste management while fostering collaborations with various government entities and strategic partners across the emirate.
Expansion of Initiative
Building on the success of its first phase, this year’s initiative will broaden its outreach to encompass a wider array of farm owners and agricultural workers in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Al Dhafra region. The initiative is being executed in partnership with key institutions including the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, Sela, and Tam Platform. These collaborations reflect a shared commitment to environmental protection, resource efficiency, and the establishment of sustainable practices in the agricultural sector within the emirate.
Program Duration and Features
The enhanced version of “Our Farms are Sustainable” is set to run until September 2026. The initiative features a comprehensive programme combining practical activities and knowledge-sharing platforms designed to motivate farm owners and workers to adopt responsible waste management practices. Through these efforts, Tadweer aims to create a robust framework for sustainability that supports the agricultural community and safeguards the environment for future generations.
