Hamdan bin Mohammed Launches Innovative Initiatives to Boost Dubai Tourism

In a strategic move to boost Dubai’s tourism sector, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, has announced several innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the emirate as a premier travel destination. These initiatives are closely aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aspires to establish Dubai among the top three tourist destinations globally.

Innovative Loyalty Programme and Streamlined Visa Applications

The newly launched initiatives include the introduction of the world’s first city-wide tourism loyalty programme, designed specifically for repeat visitors. This loyalty card will offer exclusive benefits and innovative advantages, encouraging tourists to return to Dubai by providing them with unique experiences and services.

Additionally, the process for applying for tourist visas will be made more accessible through the official VisitDubai website. This enhancement will consolidate various governmental services onto a single digital platform, enabling visitors to navigate their travel journeys seamlessly—from exploring attractions and booking tickets to managing event schedules and planning travel itineraries—all in one place. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai will continue to handle visa applications and approvals, with the new service expected to be activated soon.

Commitment to Exceptional Visitor Experience

Sheikh Hamdan stressed that under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai aims to establish a global tourism model built on innovation and service integration. “We continue to work diligently to reinforce Dubai’s status as one of the world’s top three tourist destinations through initiatives that elevate the visitor experience at every stage of their journey,” he stated. “Our goal is to position Dubai as the preferred choice for global travellers while introducing new benchmarks for excellence in tourism services.”

He further highlighted that tourism is a cornerstone of Dubai’s economic journey, integral to sustaining growth. By leveraging technology and fostering active partnerships between the public and private sectors, Dubai aims to create a more integrated and competitive tourism ecosystem, opening new avenues for investment and contributing to the diversification of its economy.

Enhancing Global Appeal Through Digital Integration

The initiatives exemplify Dubai’s commitment to evolving its tourism framework and enriching visitors’ experiences while bolstering its global attractiveness. Hilal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, remarked that these developments signify the city’s dedication to future-oriented innovation and collaboration to build a resilient economy. “Tourism plays a pivotal role in diversifying Dubai’s economy by driving significant growth in GDP and attracting investments and talent worldwide,” he noted.

He elaborated that by providing seamless access to government services and exclusive benefits, these initiatives would stimulate economic activity linked to tourism and business, fostering repeat visits and supporting the ambitious goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

Furthermore, Lt. General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, emphasised that these initiatives embody the leadership’s vision to make Dubai a top choice for visitors worldwide, offering them an exceptional experience that extends from pre-arrival planning to their entire stay. “We view the visitor experience as a complete journey, and we strive to simplify access to services and enhance digital solutions to ensure a seamless and rewarding experience,” he stated.

Joint Digital Channels Initiative

Sheikh Hamdan approved the Joint Digital Channels Initiative last year, driven by Dubai Digital, to create a more integrated, user-focused model for delivering government services. This initiative aims to unify public and private sector services across seven unified platforms, utilising advanced technologies like artificial intelligence to customise services to meet users’ needs proactively. Khalid Al Mansoori, Director General of Dubai Digital, expressed that these initiatives are a testament to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to build a government that anticipates people’s needs and places their quality of life at its core.

With tourism being a foundational pillar of Dubai’s economy, the city continues to innovate and adapt its offerings, ensuring it remains an attractive destination for prospective visitors while meeting the objectives outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. These initiatives herald a new era for Dubai’s tourism sector, promising an enhanced, streamlined, and innovative experience for all who choose to visit.
