GFH Partners Seizes Opportunities in Expanding US Cold Storage Market

GFH Partners is making a significant entrance into the booming US cold storage market, reflecting a strategic investment in temperature-controlled logistics. With this latest co-investment in Cold-Link Logistics, in collaboration with Slate Asset Management and funds managed by Hamilton Lane, GFH Partners aims to capitalize on the escalating demand for efficient cold storage solutions driven by e-commerce, food safety standards, and shifts in consumer behavior.

Expanding Presence in Cold Storage

Cold-Link Logistics stands out as one of the top ten privately held cold storage owner-operators in North America. The organization maintains a well-diversified portfolio of modern, temperature-controlled facilities situated strategically across essential food and logistics corridors throughout the United States. This extensive network features nine facilities that collectively offer over 78 million cubic feet of storage capacity.

The facilities provide a mix of freezer, cooler, and ambient storage options, enhanced by various value-added services that include case picking, blast freezing, labeling, and freight solutions. Cold-Link serves an impressive roster of over 250 clients spanning more than ten food categories, nurturing enduring relationships with producers, distributors, and retailers nationwide.

Growth Potential in a Resilient Sector

GFH Partners envisions that this investment will propel Cold-Link’s next growth phase by extending its reach into additional strategic US markets. The firm perceives cold storage as a defensive yet burgeoning sector in logistics, poised to thrive due to robust structural tailwinds such as an increasing population, heightened demand for fresh and frozen food, rapid growth of e-grocery, and stricter food safety regulations.

Nael Mustafa, CEO of GFH Partners, remarked, “Cold storage represents one of the most compelling segments within the logistics ecosystem today, driven by essential demand dynamics and the need for modern, scalable infrastructure. We are delighted to partner with Slate, Hamilton Lane, and our co-investors to support Cold-Link’s ambitious growth trajectory and to bring long-term value to our institutional partners.”

Investment Appeal and Market Trends

This transaction underscores GFH Partners’ commitment to investing in essential real assets that demonstrate resilience across various market conditions. Cold-Link’s modern facilities and customer-centric operating model enable it to seize ongoing demand for dependable, temperature-controlled logistics, especially as food supply chains continue to advance.

Moreover, this investment illustrates the increasing influence of Gulf-based capital in global logistics and infrastructure. Regional investors are showing a keen interest in securing stable and income-generating assets in established international markets, further highlighting the lucrative potential of the cold storage sector.
