Fujairah Chamber of Commerce Approves Report for the 15th Session and Budget
In an important step to facilitate upcoming business activities, the Board of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has approved the report for the 15th session and the budget for the fiscal year 2025. This move is in preparation for the anticipated general meeting, where 26 candidates will compete for 9 seats during the 16th session. Board Meeting
Sheikh Saeed bin Surour Al Sharqi chaired the Board of Directors meeting of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the council reviewed the report for the 15th session from June 2023 to June 2026. During the meeting, the chamber’s budget for the year 2025 was approved, with plans to present it at the general meeting scheduled for next Thursday. If the legal quorum is not met for the meeting, the assembly will be held with those present on the morning of July 12 at the chamber building.
Candidacies for the 16th Session
The organizing committee for the chamber elections previously opened the nomination period for the 16th session, which lasted from May 15 to June 4. The committee also stated that it will continue its media campaign for the candidates until July 11, reflecting the importance of this electoral process. As a result, 26 individuals submitted applications to run for board membership for the upcoming session.
Requirements for Candidacy
Candidates for board membership will compete for 9 seats, according to Article (17) of the Chamber Organization Law of 2023. The law stipulates that elections will be conducted by secret direct ballot, and the membership duration in the council is three years, renewable. It is important for candidates to be citizens of the United Arab Emirates, of good character and conduct, and not to have been previously convicted in cases affecting honor and integrity. They must also have a principal place of business in the Emirate of Fujairah and be members of the general assembly.
