According to Mansour Alfalasi, the CEO of the group, Dubai Taxi has initiated a pilot program featuring a fleet of 50 self-driving vehicles, with plans for gradual and measured expansion over the coming years, targeting more than 1,000 vehicles. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with a strategic vision to cement Dubai’s leadership in adopting future mobility solutions and enhancing the efficiency of its transportation system in line with best global practices.

The ride experience is designed to be straightforward and smooth. Residents and visitors can book their journeys using the Apollo Go app, available on both the App Store and Play Store. Future plans include expanding booking options to other platforms such as Bolt and various smart mobility apps, offering users even more choices and flexibility. The operation of the vehicles relies on a smart and simplified system: users request a ride via the app and input a door-opening code, which is the last four digits of their phone number upon the vehicle’s arrival.

Once the user is inside the vehicle and buckled up, it automatically departs for the pre-set destination, providing a safe and comfortable travel experience based on the latest self-driving technology. Upon arrival, the vehicle door opens automatically after the seatbelt is unfastened, exemplifying the seamless integration of technology and user-friendly design.

After the promotional period ends, standard fares for taxi services will apply, with no additional fees, ensuring an affordable experience for diverse user segments and encouraging the adoption of this new service.
