Food Safety Shuts Down Tik Restaurant in Al Ain Over Health Risks

The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has ordered the temporary administrative closure of “Tek Restaurant” in Al Ain, citing violations of Abu Dhabi’s Food Law No. (2) of 2008 and the regulations issued under it, as well as risks to public health.

The authority said the decision applies to the establishment, which holds trade licence CN-2554094, after repeated food safety violations and the failure to implement effective corrective measures. It said immediate action was necessary to protect food safety and consumer health.

Closure to remain in place until violations are resolved

The authority confirmed that the administrative closure will remain in force until the أسباب of the violation have been removed, and that the business may resume once the establishment has fully corrected its status and complied with all food safety requirements.

It added that the administrative closure and the exposure of breaches form part of the authority’s plan to strengthen the food safety system in Abu Dhabi, with all food establishments subject to regular inspections to ensure compliance with requirements, while focusing on proactive consumer protection and ensuring that all establishments meet food safety standards.

Public urged to report violations

The authority called on the public to contact it and report any violations observed at any food establishment, or any suspicion regarding the contents of a food item, by calling the Abu Dhabi Government’s toll-free number 800555, so that the authority’s inspectors can take the necessary action to ensure safe and sound food for all members of society in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
