With the commencement of regular flights to the cultural city of Iași, Fly Dubai becomes the first Emirati airline to offer direct flights from Dubai to this destination. Launch of Flights to Iași
Fly Dubai has launched its regular flights to Iași, adding a new destination to its network. The inaugural flight landed at Iași International Airport to a warm welcome, including traditional water cannon salutes and greetings from local officials and media representatives. With this step, Fly Dubai increases its number of destinations in Romania to two, including the capital, Bucharest.
Increase in Flights to Bucharest
In addition to launching new services to Iași, Fly Dubai announced an increase in its flights to Bucharest, bringing the total to three daily flights. Overall, the total number of flights to the Romanian market will reach 21 weekly. Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, confirmed that Romania represents a vital market for the company, with a 16% annual increase in passenger numbers.
Collaboration with Iași Airport
Romeo Vatra, the General Director of Iași Airport, noted that the launch of Fly Dubai’s direct flights enhances travel options for passengers. “Iași Airport is the only airport in the Moldova region that offers direct flights to the UAE, and we look forward to building a long-term relationship with Fly Dubai.” This partnership is viewed as a strategic step to enhance the airport’s role as an international gateway.
