Etihad Airways Extends Suspension of Flights to Saudi Cities

Etihad Airways has announced an extension of flight cancellations between Abu Dhabi and several destinations in Saudi Arabia, specifically Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah, until 5 November. This move follows recent adjustments made by several airlines in the UAE regarding their operations to Saudi Arabian cities amidst changing circumstances.

Details of Cancellations

All flights connecting Abu Dhabi to Dammam and Riyadh have been cancelled through Thursday, 5 November. Specifically, flights EY601 and EY603 from Abu Dhabi to Jeddah, as well as EY602 and EY604 from Jeddah to Abu Dhabi, are also suspended until the same date.

Etihad Airways emphasised that the situation remains fluid, and additional changes to flight schedules may occur. They have encouraged travellers to check the latest updates regarding their flights on the airline’s official website.

To assist impacted passengers, the airline’s teams are actively working to facilitate changes and alternative travel arrangements.

Impact on Other Airlines

On 11 October, it was reported that other national carriers in the Emirates also cancelled a number of flights to Saudi Arabia, including those to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Medina. Some of these cancellations and operational adjustments are set to extend until 14 October.

A spokesperson for Flydubai indicated that the airline has suspended its flights from Dubai to Riyadh until 14 October, reflecting a broader operational impact among airlines serving the region.
