Empowering Local Families to Enhance the Home Economy

In its efforts to support the home economy and enhance the role of productive families, the “Wasalnakum” initiative highlights the importance of small projects born from passion and creativity. Through this initiative’s platform, community members can showcase their products and exchange experiences, contributing to the establishment of a diverse and productive economy that reflects the Emirati cultural identity.

“Wasalnakum” Initiative: A Platform for Productive Families

At Wadi Asfani Park in Ras Al Khaimah, the latest event of the “Wasalnakum” initiative showcased unique experiences from Emirati productive families. This event served as a live social workshop that embodied the participants’ passion, with some projects achieving success for over 30 years. The initiative, implemented by the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, aims to enhance the role of productive families, increase the effectiveness of the home economy, and improve the quality of life for the community.

Success Stories of Passion and Creativity

Shaima Al Shuhhi, owner of the “Soul of Purple” project, shares the beginnings of her journey, which started with preparing a recipe for a friend: “When I made ‘Tamria’ for a friend, her reaction was incredibly encouraging, prompting me to share my experience with others.” Shaima believes that government and community support have helped expand struggling projects, noting that “the pursuit of livelihood is not a shame but a privilege that reflects a spirit of responsibility.” Shaima serves as a role model for ambitious Emirati women.

Preserving Heritage Through Home Projects

Fawzia Ali, who runs the “Purple Traditional Foods” project, works diligently to preserve Emirati heritage. She stated, “I consider my project a means of safeguarding traditional foods from extinction.” This model underscores the role of productive families in representing cultural identity, as traditional dishes are an integral part of Emirati heritage. Fawzia adds, “During crises, I was present to provide food support to families in need, highlighting our important role in the community.”

Government Support and Initiatives

Rashed Mohammed Al Kaabi, Director of the Red Crescent Center in Ras Al Khaimah, emphasized the importance of the “Wasalnakum” initiative in providing support to needy families and the elderly. Al Kaabi stated, “The initiative seeks to reach all segments of society and provide medical check-ups and safety equipment.” This demonstrates a genuine interest in enhancing the role of Emirati women and productive families, alongside a focus on the home economy.

The success of the “Wasalnakum” initiative in promoting the role of productive families proves the value of community cooperation and government support, contributing to the formation of a strong network of small projects that reflect the spirit and culture of the UAE.
