Sharjah Education Academy trains 434 nursery and kindergarten staff across 21 workshops in three regions to enhance readiness and develop educational and leadership practices.

The Sharjah Education Academy has launched a comprehensive training programme aimed at upgrading the skills of staff working in government nurseries and kindergartens within Sharjah. Spanning three locations across the city of Sharjah, the Central and Eastern Regions, the initiative targeted 434 educational personnel through 21 workshops and training sessions, aiming to boost professional preparedness and refine educational and leadership methods ahead of the new school year.

The training catered to a diverse group of participants, including nursery and kindergarten directors, teachers, teaching assistants, administrative staff, receptionists, and nurses, ensuring that all personnel contributing to the daily experiences of children were included. The programme comprised nine workshops for teaching staff, nine for administrative staff, and three specifically for nursing personnel, in collaboration with the Child Safety Excellence Foundation.

Twenty trainers and experts contributed to the programme, creating a training experience that blended knowledge with practical application and the exchange of ideas. The professional development week reached out across various regions of Sharjah, with 213 participants from the city, 140 from the Eastern Region, and 81 from the Central Region engaging in the training sessions.

Throughout the programme, the academy facilitated a series of significant workshops that drew upon the daily realities of nursery life, placing practical application at the heart of professional development. This approach ensured that participants received knowledge and tools applicable to the situations and interactions that shape children’s daily experiences.

Arabic language development was prominently featured within the programme, utilising stories, play, dialogue, and daily routines to enhance children’s connection to the language. Additionally, the workshops addressed curriculum-related practices, support for children with special educational needs and disabilities, life skills development, and the overall quality of care provided within nurseries and kindergartens.
