Dubai Roads Contributes 5 Million Dirhams to the “Edge of Life” Campaign

In a humanitarian gesture reflecting its commitment to charitable initiatives, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai announced a contribution of 5 million dirhams in support of the “Edge of Life” campaign, which aims to save 5 million children from starvation. This campaign was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, during the holy month of Ramadan. It aims to raise at least one billion dirhams to invest in sustainable programs and projects to combat child hunger globally.

“Edge of Life” Campaign and Its Goals

The “Edge of Life” campaign, which falls under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, continues a series of previous Ramadan campaigns launched under His Highness’s directives. These campaigns have seen significant engagement from the UAE community, as they are part of the culture of giving and solidarity that the country promotes. The campaign aims to highlight the issue of child hunger worldwide and strengthen the efforts of humanitarian organizations in this field.

Humanitarian Partnerships

The “Edge of Life” campaign has been implemented in collaboration with several organizations, including UNICEF, Save the Children, and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. These partnerships require high coordination among institutions to improve access to the most needy populations and provide effective support. The campaign also reflects the UAE’s commitment to its humanitarian responsibilities, as it strives to support future generations.

A Message of Hope from Dubai

Matar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the RTA in Dubai, emphasized that this initiative represents a message of hope for many children around the world. He stated, “The ‘Edge of Life’ campaign is an urgent response to the challenges of hunger and malnutrition, and it represents part of a strategic vision aimed at creating a sustainable impact in communities.” He explained that investing in saving children from hunger is an investment in the future of humanity, as food security is closely linked to stability and sustainable development.

How to Contribute to the Campaign

The “Edge of Life” campaign continues to receive donations from individuals and institutions through seven main channels. Contributions can be made via the campaign’s dedicated website, www.edgeoflife.ae, or by calling the toll-free number 8004999. Bank transfers to the campaign’s account in UAE dirhams can also be made at Emirates Islamic Bank.

The campaign also allows donations via SMS through the “du” and “e&” networks by specifying the amount the contributors wish to donate. Additionally, contributions can be easily made through the “Dubai Now” app, making it accessible for all those interested in participating in this humanitarian initiative.

The Roads and Transport Authority’s contribution of 5 million dirhams to the “Edge of Life” campaign is not just financial support; it reflects the spirit of solidarity and humanitarian cooperation that characterizes the UAE in all fields.
