The vibrant celebrations of the 54th UAE National Day are set to illuminate Dubai‘s neighborhoods, from Al Khawaneej to Jumeirah, as part of the “National Month” campaign organized by the Dubai Frjan Institution. This initiative features a series of community and cultural events aimed at highlighting enduring national values and fostering unity among citizens. Scheduled from December 1st to 7th, the festivities will offer residents an opportunity to engage in a joyful celebration while reinforcing a strong sense of identity and heritage.
These events reflect the Dubai Frjan Institution’s vision to promote national identity and celebrate significant occasions in the heart of residential areas. By transforming frjan into interactive platforms, the initiative ensures that all community members can actively participate in the celebratory experience, echoing the authentic spirit of the UAE.
Under the auspices of the Community Development Authority in Dubai and in collaboration with local entities such as du, Dubai Holding, and the Community Contributions Foundation “Goud,” the planned activities include cultural and heritage performances, workshops, interactive competitions, and local markets. Furthermore, a wealth of talent and creativity from Emirati artisans and entrepreneurs will be showcased, alongside a variety of local restaurants, offering a comprehensive experience that reflects the richness and diversity of Emirati heritage.
Aliyah Al Shamsi, the director of Dubai Frjan, stated, “We are proud to be part of the National Day celebrations, a moment that unites us in love for our country and enhances a sense of belonging among all citizens and residents.” She further explained, “We chose to hold the National Day events in Al Khawaneej and Jumeirah to ensure that each neighborhood has a unique way to express the spirit of unity and celebrate both land and maritime heritage, providing more residents of Dubai the chance to partake in the joyful festivities.”
This year, Dubai Frjan aims to attract over 90,000 attendees, hosting 25 diverse workshops and 50 entertaining shows and competitions. More than 20 restaurants and 16 local shops will be part of these festive celebrations.
In Al Khawaneej, the “Al Wafa” event will take place from December 1st to 3rd, focusing on supporting Emirati projects through various workshops, competitions, and cultural showcases, alongside a selection of local dishes. Meanwhile, Jumeirah Beach will host the “Al Dana” event from December 5th to 7th, dedicated to celebrating Emirati maritime heritage with workshops for both children and adults, as well as cultural performances from local restaurants.
Reem Obaid Al Awabdeh, Director of Community Programs at the Community Development Authority, expressed, “We take pride in our partnership with Dubai Frjan in reviving national events that reflect the spirit of unity and strengthen the community’s connection to its rich heritage. Our sponsorship of these celebrations aligns with our commitment to supporting initiatives that celebrate Emirati identity and provide platforms that highlight values of cohesion and pride in Emirati history.”
In addition, Adel Al Rais, Executive Director of Corporate Communications at du, remarked, “We are honored to sponsor the National Day events in collaboration with Dubai Frjan, supporting initiatives that gather the community around values of identity and belonging. This initiative perfectly aligns with du’s vision to utilize innovation and enhance collaboration with all active players to create positive change within the community, including supporting national events that celebrate the UAE’s history and culture.”
The Dubai Community Contributions Foundation “Goud” has also reaffirmed its commitment to participating in the National Day celebrations organized by Dubai Frjan as part of its efforts to cultivate a culture of giving. This involves providing straightforward opportunities for visitors to engage in community initiatives offered on the platform while supporting local businesses through initiatives that enhance their visibility and encourage public interaction with their enterprises, thereby bolstering the local economy.
Mohammed Rashid Bin Hashim, Executive Director of Dubai Community Contributions Foundation “Goud,” stated, “Through our participation in Dubai Frjan, we aspire to make giving a natural part of the National Day celebration experience; where every contribution and every moment becomes a chance to serve the community. We are proud to support local entrepreneurs and enhance their role within an integrated economic and social framework in Dubai.”
