The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has partnered with Eurasia Capital to enhance funding opportunities for nascent tech companies. This collaboration aims to provide critical financial support and expertise to startup ventures through an innovative sandbox programme and a substantial investment fund of AED 500 million.

Support for Digital Economy Growth

Saeed Al Qarkawi, Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, emphasised their commitment to facilitating effective pathways for startups to connect directly with potential investors. “We are dedicated to supporting the growth of the digital economy ecosystem in the Emirate and enhancing its reputation as a global hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment across all sectors of the digital economy,” he stated.

Empowering Promising Startups

Julián Blouzo, Senior Partner at Eurasia Capital, reinforced the importance of funding in conjunction with guidance and access to a supportive investment ecosystem. “We believe that funding for startups achieves a greater impact when coupled with expertise and direction, allowing them to develop their business models and accelerate their growth from Dubai, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the digital economy in the Emirate,” he said.

Showcasing Innovative Enterprises

The initiative showcased seven startups across various sectors of the digital economy, allowing them to present their business models, solutions, and growth plans to the investment team from Eurasia Capital. Key participants included:

  • Arakan: An Emirati tech platform offering digital solutions for corporate compliance and operational requirements.
  • Duno: An independent operational intelligence platform assisting lenders in assessing and understanding small to medium-sized enterprises.
  • YOUNEA: An AI platform enabling businesses to deploy branded AI assistant tools across channels including voice, chats, and WhatsApp.
  • Riayatech: A healthcare technology firm focused on developing digital solutions to improve healthcare operations and patient experience, based in the UAE.
  • Avelin: An AI platform offering advanced capabilities via cloud computing or in-house operations, even in isolated environments.

Eurasia Capital’s Investment Fund

Eurasia Capital manages a fund worth AED 500 million, aimed at investing in technology startups from pre-seed stages to Series B funding rounds. Through its sandbox programme, the firm provides prospective investments ranging from AED 550,000 to approximately AED 11 million. The programme also offers mentoring support, assisting companies in their investment readiness while providing access to a broader network of startups.

This event aligns with the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy’s strategic priorities, facilitating connections between emerging tech firms and investors to enhance access to funding and bolster their growth and expansion potential. It reflects the chamber’s ongoing efforts to attract international business and investments to the Emirate, thereby contributing to the sustained growth of its digital economy ecosystem.
