Dubai brought together sport, leisure and professional networking as the Dubai Press Club, in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, organised the “Arab Media Summit Mallathon” at Dubai Mall as part of the events accompanying the Arab Media Summit.
The initiative formed part of a broader effort to create an interactive setting that connects media and sport, while encouraging participants to embrace a healthier and more active lifestyle. It also reflected Dubai’s approach to hosting events that combine physical activity with professional engagement in accessible public spaces.
A community fitness concept
The “Dubai Mallathon” is an innovative sports and community initiative launched by the Dubai Sports Council. It aims to transform major shopping centres in Dubai into healthy destinations for walking and running in a safe, air-conditioned environment.
The event at Dubai Mall drew broad participation from journalists, content creators and influencers, alongside several sports figures. Its purpose was not only to promote fitness, but also to strengthen connections among those working in the media sector.
Media and movement in one space
Participants completed a route inside Dubai Mall in an atmosphere marked by energy and interaction, underscoring Dubai’s focus on events that blend physical movement with professional التواصل, and reinforce the idea of media that remains closely connected to the community.
Mariam Al Mulla, Director of the Dubai Press Club, said: “We organised the event in preparation for the Arab Media Summit, and the aim is to combine physical movement and professional networking among media professionals.”
She said the Mallathon concept was inspired by Dubai’s style of embracing competitiveness and excellence, and its constant pursuit of victory.
Al Mulla also thanked the Dubai Sports Council for its cooperation in organising the event, and said the Arab Media Summit continues its mission in the coming edition as a strategic platform bringing together leading decision-makers, media leaders, institutions and content creators.
