Dubai Taxi Launches Self-Driving Vehicle Service
In a pioneering step towards the future of smart transportation, Dubai Taxi Corporation, in collaboration with Baidu, has announced the launch of self-driving taxi services in Dubai. This initiative, through the Apollo Go platform, is the first of its kind in the region and represents a strategic move to support smart mobility in the emirate. This new project will provide residents and visitors of Dubai with a unique transportation experience, enhancing Dubai Taxi’s position in adopting modern innovations.
Initial Operational Plans
The initial operation of the self-driving vehicle service will begin with a fleet of 50 vehicles in the first year. The company plans to expand its fleet to over 1,000 self-driving vehicles in the coming years. This step aims to reinforce Dubai Taxi’s leadership in utilizing advanced mobility solutions, demonstrating the company’s commitment to enhancing the transportation experience in the city.
Apollo Go App
Residents and visitors of Dubai can now easily book their self-driving rides through the Apollo Go app, available on the App Store and Play Store. The company also plans to expand its booking channels to include more applications, such as the Bolt platform, providing users with more options and convenience in transportation.

Nan Yang, Vice President of Baidu and General Manager of the Smart Driving Group’s external business unit, stated, “We are working to deliver safe, efficient, and scalable mobility services that set new standards for transportation in the region.” Commenting on this achievement, Mansour Rahma Al-Falasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi, said, “This achievement is a result of our strategic partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai. We appreciate their ongoing support in developing a comprehensive infrastructure that enables the seamless deployment of self-driving taxis.”

Dubai Taxi’s initiative aligns with the emirate’s ambitious goals to transform 25% of total transportation trips in Dubai into smart and self-driving journeys by 2030.
