According to a press statement from the Bur Dubai Police Center, the duo had meticulously planned the heist targeting a major supermarket. In the late hours, they approached the rear entrance and used sharp tools to create an opening. Once inside, they headed straight to the accounting office, where they broke open four boxes containing 60,000 dirhams.
Breaking into the Safe
Following this initial theft, the criminals set their sights on the supermarket’s main safe. They managed to break into it with the same tools, making off with an alarming 600,000 dirhams before fleeing the scene. An employee arrived early the next morning, just before the store’s opening, and discovered the crime, prompting an immediate report to the authorities.
