In a significant display of commitment to enhancing tourist safety and experience, the Dubai Police Force is actively participating in the upcoming Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026. This prominent international event, scheduled from 14 to 17 September at the Dubai World Trade Centre, serves as a key platform for showcasing innovations in the tourism sector. Major players from the global travel and tourism industry will be in attendance, underscoring Dubai’s position as a leading destination for both leisure and business travel.
Showcasing Smart Security Solutions
Brigadier General Dr. Ahmed Zahal bin Kreshan Al-Muhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Financial and Administrative Affairs, emphasised the importance of Dubai Police’s participation at ATM as an opportunity to introduce their comprehensive system for tourist safety. During a visit to the Dubai Police stand at the exhibition, accompanied by other high-ranking officials, he took the time to explore various services and initiatives aimed at enhancing visitor experiences through innovative security solutions.
Commitment to Excellence in Tourism Security
Al-Muhairi praised the smart solutions presented at the Dubai Police stand, which leverage cutting-edge technology to enhance community and tourist safety. He stated, “Security is a fundamental pillar in the success of the tourism experience and the sustainable growth of the sector.” He further explained that Dubai Police collaborates closely with its partners to provide proactive and seamless services that elevate the quality of life for visitors, facilitating access to security services throughout their journeys.
Strategic Developments in Police Training
The Dubai Police stand also showcased a model of the new Dubai Police Academy building in Al Ruwaya First, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing police training. Spanning 155 hectares, the academy will accommodate up to 2,500 students and features residential, educational, administrative, and recreational areas, alongside a healthcare centre and a theatre with a capacity for around 1,000 attendees. The facility will include 17 sports amenities, including an Olympic swimming pool and various courts for football, padel, and tennis, as well as a sports hotel housing 26 rooms. The project is scheduled for completion by 2027.
Innovative Digital Services for the Public
Highlighting the commitment to digital transformation, the stand introduces services such as inquiries about travel bans and police reports through the Dubai Police smart application and website. This offers users the ability to track the status of most financial and criminal complaints, eliminating the need for visits to police stations. The initiative reflects Dubai’s goal to streamline procedures and reduce bureaucracy.
Community Engagement in Safety Initiatives
Also featured is the “Police Eye” service, which empowers community members to report infractions and negative occurrences through text messages, voice notes, or multimedia submissions while pinpointing the location of such events. This initiative encourages public participation in bolstering community safety.
Educational Campaigns for Tourists
Throughout the exhibition, Dubai Police will conduct awareness lectures for tourists on safety measures while travelling, along with presenting smart police station services, a lost and found system, the e-Crime platform, and educational resources against cybercrime. This comprehensive approach aims to integrate security initiatives with the overall travel and tourism experience in Dubai.
