Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Attracts Over 1100 New Businesses

The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has made headlines by attracting over 1,100 new companies during the first half of 2025, highlighting its vital role in driving global trade through Dubai. This noteworthy addition brings the total number of registered companies within the DMCC to nearly 26,000, underscoring its status as a thriving business hub in the region. Reinforced by robust demand from key international markets such as China, Turkey, and the United Kingdom, the DMCC is continuously expanding its services and enhancing its appeal for businesses of all sizes.

Growing Demand and International Interest

The recent influx of over 1,100 companies during the first half of 2025 showcases the growing international interest in DMCC’s free zone. The center’s strategic initiatives and licensing options have attracted diverse businesses seeking to establish their presence in Dubai. Notably, the technology sector has been particularly vibrant, with the Crypto Centre surpassing 700 registered firms, marking a significant annual growth rate of 38%. Overall, the number of tech companies under the DMCC’s umbrella has now exceeded 3,300.

Strategic Investments and Infrastructure Development

To maintain this momentum, DMCC is actively investing in specialized business ecosystems and enhancing its real estate offerings. A long-term growth strategy aims to foster innovation and expansion in emerging sectors like quantum computing and water technologies. Furthermore, the development of major projects in prime locations, such as Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) and Uptown Dubai, is enhancing the region’s appeal for global business communities seeking high-quality environments that meet modern needs.

Innovations in Commodities and Trade

DMCC has set remarkable benchmarks in the commodities sector. During a historic visit from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s Crown Prince, the center reported surpassing one billion carats in diamond trade over five years. Additionally, the first specialty coffee auction, held at the World of Coffee event in February, set unprecedented prices for rare beans. DMCC is also exploring new frontiers by launching the world’s first water-backed digital token in collaboration with Aqua Index, positioning itself at the forefront of sustainable trade initiatives.

Strengthening Global Ties

Further solidifying its role as a global investment hub, DMCC recorded a 23% year-on-year increase in British company registrations, bringing the total to nearly 2,200. Turkish firms showed a robust growth rate of 22%, and there was a notable 10% rise in Chinese companies. In February, DMCC forged key partnerships with Beijing Daxing District and the Chaoyang Council, enhancing trade exchanges and business integration with China.

Real Estate Developments and Hospitality Ventures

In response to rising demand, DMCC is investing in urban development projects that support its growing business ecosystem. Construction has begun on two commercial towers in Uptown Dubai, expanding the area’s premium office space. Additionally, the luxury residential project “Mercer House” will provide distinguished living experiences alongside top-notch amenities. New hospitality ventures, including upscale dining options in The Atrium, further enrich the local landscape, promising a vibrant environment for business stakeholders and residents alike.

The successful outcomes from the first half of 2025 reflect the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre’s enduring momentum, reinforcing its position as a leader in fostering innovation and international trade. As the center continues to attract investment and business growth, it remains committed to creating a thriving ecosystem that meets the evolving demands of a globalized economy.
