Summary
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has established a mechanism for reporting work-related injuries: notifications to medical authorities, police, and the Ministry must occur within 48 hours, with employers bearing the treatment costs and providing guidelines on-site.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation emphasised its commitment to protecting workers’ rights and ensuring rapid response in the event of work-related injuries or suspected occupational diseases. To this end, a clear reporting and management mechanism has been outlined, which adheres to current legislation.
According to the Ministry, upon a work-related injury or suspicion of an occupational disease, the employer or their legal representative is required to notify the relevant medical authority, report to the appropriate police station based on geographical jurisdiction, and inform the Ministry through designated channels within a maximum period of 48 hours. Additionally, employers are responsible for covering the medical care costs for the worker as stipulated by national laws.
The Ministry encourages all to explore its occupational health and safety system and to familiarise themselves with further guidelines and procedures by visiting the Ministry’s official website.
