The participation of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism in this event highlights the significant role of Emirati women in international arenas, showcasing their achievements and building cross-border partnerships in the economic sector. This engagement aligns with the UAE’s vision to empower women and promote their essential role in shaping the future of the economy and tourism.
The Ministry of Economy and Tourism took part in the “Economic Women’s Dialogue” event in Guangzhou, China, which aims to solidify the presence of Emirati women in international forums, showcase their outstanding achievements, and develop international partnerships among successful women leaders in the economic field from both the UAE and China. This effort contributes to realizing the wise leadership’s vision of supporting and empowering women, enhancing their pivotal role in building the future.
The ministry stated that its participation is part of the UAE’s celebrations for Emirati Women’s Day 2025 under the slogan “Hand in Hand, We Celebrate Fifty.”
The UAE delegation at the event, organized by the UAE Consulate in Guangzhou, was led by Badriya Almeidour, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, along with the UAE Consul General in Guangzhou, Mariam Alshamsi, Emirati entrepreneur and General Manager of Rebound, Mariam Almansoori, and representatives from Sky River and Eesal.
Almeidour emphasized that empowering women is one of the strategic priorities of the state and embodies the leadership’s vision in supporting Emirati women and enhancing their participation in shaping the future of the national economy. She noted that since its establishment, the UAE has adopted a pioneering approach to establishing women’s status as active partners in the development journey through supportive policies, legislation, and initiatives in both the public and private sectors. The participation of women in development has been prioritized as a national goal to enhance the country’s competitiveness regionally and globally.
The event included a series of panel discussions addressing the role of women in vital areas, including sustainable finance, investment, financial technology, green building, and the localization of foreign companies in the UAE. A group of women leaders from both sides shared their professional experiences and the opportunities that have helped them grow and thrive.
