Ajman Prohibits Parking of Petroleum Transport Vehicles in Unauthorized Areas

The Ajman government has announced a new decision prohibiting the parking of petroleum transport vehicles in areas not designated for this purpose within the emirate. This decision reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing public safety and ensuring organized transportation in the city of Ajman. It is a critical step in protecting residential areas and mitigating potential risks associated with the storage of petroleum materials.

Details of the New Decision

The decision assigns the Supreme Energy Committee in Ajman the responsibility of monitoring and documenting violations related to the parking of petroleum transport vehicles. The committee will collaborate with specialized judicial officers to enforce necessary penalties against violators, with fines ranging from 5,000 dirhams for the owner of the violating vehicle to 10,000 dirhams in the case of repeated violations.

Severe Penalties for Violators

If a violation occurs for the third time, the fine may reach 20,000 dirhams, in addition to the impoundment and auction of the vehicle. This will be coordinated with the Municipality and Planning Department, underscoring the seriousness of enforcing penalties against those who violate the prohibition on parking petroleum transport vehicles.

Additional Measures for Non-Compliant Facilities

The decision allows the Supreme Energy Committee to impose additional penalties on licensed facilities that violate the regulations. These penalties may include the suspension or revocation of the petroleum trading license, adding to the severity of the violations that may arise from non-compliance. It is emphasized that violations must be rectified immediately at the owner’s expense if they occur in densely populated areas or pose a threat to public safety.

Implementation Timeline

The decision is set to take effect 30 days after its issuance, providing vehicle owners and transport facilities ample time to comply with the new directives. Ajman’s decision to prohibit the parking of petroleum transport vehicles in unauthorized areas reflects the emirate’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of safety and public order, urging everyone to respect these laws to ensure a safe community.
