Aatish: The Live-Fire Dining Experience Everyone’s Talking About

Aatish, a new culinary escape located in Wasl 51, has rapidly ascended to foodie fame, captivating social media feeds with its unique blend of live-fire cooking and global flavours. This vibrant restaurant is the brainchild of four friends, affectionately dubbed the Strong Boys, who are on a mission to share the gastronomic delights discovered during their travels.

The Story Behind Aatish

The Strong Boys consist of Reza Namazi and Amin Ebra, the duo behind Iranish, Alex Augusti of Just Food, and head chef Abdul Hakim from The Meating Room. Their journey together began with a playful catcall that led to their nickname. Fueled by a shared passion for food, they decided to bring the vibrant and unforgettable tastes from their global adventures back to Dubai, which inspired the creation of Aatish.

A Unique Dining Vibe

As you step into Aatish, the environment invites you to indulge your senses. Beneath a vibrant mural showcasing a map of their culinary travels, the eye is soon captivated by the open kitchen, where chefs expertly grill and plate each dish. The enticing aroma of grilled meats bursts forth as soon as you take your seat, instantly setting the stage for a satisfying gastronomic journey.

The Culinary Experience

The meal kicked off with Hawker’s Sup Kambing, a hearty soup reminiscent of the flavours the quartet discovered at a Singaporean hawker stall. The comforting broth boasts a gentle warmth, leaving a subtle hint of lamb in each spoonful — a dish so delicious that it prompted multiple visits by the team during their travels.

Next came Sinan’s Sizzling Prawns, named after their Turkish food tour guide. This dish delivers a serious flavour punch, perfectly complemented by onion bread that helps mop up the delightful combination of garlic butter and red chili sauce.

Following the prawns, we indulged in the Psychedelic Lamb Chops. Alex was confident we would enjoy them, and he was right. These chops are infused with a smoky essence that makes them an instant favourite. To add an extra flair to the meal, we opted for the T-Rex bone marrow, fire-roasted and served with a marrow sauce and onion jam. Not only does it look appealing for social media, but it also provides a rich and satisfying flavour profile.

Service with a Smile

The ambience of Aatish is complemented by warm and attentive service. The friendly staff ensures a relaxed dining experience, checking in without rushing, making you feel welcomed and valued throughout your meal.
