Sheikhs Camels Impress in 2026 Maroom Finale Debut

The Al Marmoom Camel Racing field witnessed a strong start for the camels of His Highness the Sheikhs at the Al Marmoom 2026 finale, as the events of the Al Marmoom 2026 festival kicked off with the young camels’ competition. The event, filled with excitement and thrill, took place in an atmosphere of intense competition among participants, who delivered impressive performances that captivated the audience. This powerful start for the camels of His Highness the Sheikhs embodies the passionate spirit of camel racing in the United Arab Emirates.
This morning, the young camels’ competition for the camels of His Highness the Sheikhs was held, comprising a total of 30 races over a distance of 5 kilometers. The evening races, totaling 14, were rescheduled to the morning due to weather conditions. The event began with the four symbolic races, where “Jamrah” from the Shihaniya stables, led by trainer Jaber Salem Farhan Al Marri, clinched the open young she-camels’ cup with an astonishing time of 7:12.4 minutes. This moment marked a powerful launch for the camels of His Highness the Sheikhs, showcasing exceptional performances from the competitors.
In the local competitions, “Afaal” from the Presidential stables, led by Hamdan Mohammed Maroushed, won the local young she-camels’ cup with a time of 7:08.9 minutes. Additionally, “Shabab” from the Shihaniya stables, led by Jarallah Mohammed Taleb Aqeel Al Nabet, seized the local young male camels’ rifle with a recorded time of 7:08.6 minutes. Following the conclusion of the fourteenth race, Ali Saeed Bin Sarood, the Executive Director of the Dubai Camel Racing Club, and Abdullah Ahmed Faraj, the Director of Media and Marketing, awarded the winners of the young camels’ symbolic races for the camels of His Highness the Sheikhs.
Meanwhile, the morning races for the young camels of His Highness the Sheikhs took place after the evening races concluded, showcasing strong competition. “Bashoor” from the Shihaniya stables, led by Salem Farhan Al Marri, won the fifteenth race for the young she-camels with a time of 7:13.9 minutes. The thrilling atmosphere continued, with “Al Dhahab” from the Presidential stables, led by Hamdan Mohammed Maroushed, claiming the sixteenth race for the young male camels with the best morning time of 7:08.3 minutes.
Additionally, “Mazahima” from the Presidential stables, led by Hamdan Mohammed Maroushed, delivered an outstanding performance, winning the seventeenth race for the young she-camels with a time of 7:12.8 minutes. In the eighteenth race, “Al Fares” from the Shihaniya stables, led by Jarallah Mohammed Taleb Aqeel Al Nabet, achieved an exciting victory with a time of 7:12.6 minutes. Amidst the details of this strong start for the camels of His Highness the Sheikhs, the Dubai Camel Racing Club announced the postponement of the young male camels’ races due to fluctuating weather conditions, particularly after it was decided to hold these races next Saturday.
The young male camels’ races are expected to consist of 15 races in the morning and 14 races in the evening, along with four races designated for the symbolic cups, which include two cups for the open and local young male camels, in addition to two rifles for the open and local young male camels. This postponement also includes the races for the female and male camels of tribal owners, which will take place in the morning of Wednesday, April 1st, with the symbolic races scheduled for the evening. This strong start for the camels of His Highness the Sheikhs paves a clear path for the future of this traditional sport.
