Emirates Airlines has officially launched its daily flight to Hangzhou, expanding its network of services in mainland China to five destinations. This step is part of the company’s strategy to enhance its presence in the growing Asian market and respond to the increasing demand in the air transport sector. Through this flight, Emirates aims to connect travelers to new markets and facilitate business and trade between the UAE and China.
Distinctive Inaugural Flight
Emirates celebrated the inaugural flight “EK 310,” which landed at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport to a warm welcome from officials and dignitaries. The event featured a traditional water salute and presented souvenir gifts to the passengers, including keychains, certificates of appreciation, and packages of Chinese tea. The flight included travelers from several countries, including the UAE, Nigeria, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil, along with delegations from Emirates and various international media.
Statements from Emirates Officials
In his remarks, Adnan Kazim, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, stated, “China has become one of the largest aviation markets in the world, and we at Emirates are proud of our role in supporting this growth.” He noted that the addition of two new destinations in a short period reflects the company’s deep commitment to mainland China and its direction towards growth in the East and Southeast Asia region.
New Facilities and Services
The flight operates on a Boeing 777-300ER, departing from Dubai at 09:40 and arriving in Hangzhou at 22:00, with an early morning return. This service provides convenient timing for travelers coming from over 40 destinations in Europe, 21 in Africa, and 13 in the Middle East, as well as destinations in Brazil and Argentina. It also allows travelers from Hangzhou seamless access to major cities such as Istanbul, Barcelona, and Johannesburg.
Boosting E-Commerce and Logistics
Hangzhou is considered an important center for international e-commerce, making it an attractive destination for many Chinese brands. With the Boeing 777, customers can efficiently transport sensitive shipments, enhancing supply chain performance and reducing delivery times. It offers a range of other advantages that make it an integrated destination contributing to the enhancement of digital and commercial exchange between China and the Middle East, providing broader options for customers.
By providing enhanced connecting flights with various Chinese airlines, Emirates strengthens travel options for passengers traveling to and from Hangzhou, reflecting its commitment to promoting tourism and increasing commercial cooperation. This facilitates access for travelers from Gulf countries to China without a visa for up to 30 days, boosting tourism and trade movement in the region.
