Dar Al Ber Launches ‘Winter of Compassion’ 2026 for Families

In a significant initiative to support the most vulnerable members of society, Dar Al Ber Society has launched its annual winter campaign for 2026, themed “Winter of Compassion: Warmth That Lasts.” The campaign aims to assist families, orphans, and those in need, providing relief from the harsh winter conditions through a variety of humanitarian projects that supply heating, clothing, and food essentials to beneficiaries in regions experiencing severe drops in temperature.

Campaign Overview and Duration

The Winter of Compassion 2026 campaign commenced on November 5 and will run for over three months. It extends its reach to countries including Nepal, Tajikistan, Albania, and Kosovo, implementing diverse projects that enhance the ability of struggling families to withstand the difficult winter months.

Support Initiatives

Imran Abdullah, Assistant CEO for the Zakat and Community Development Sector at Dar Al Ber Society, detailed the various projects encompassed in the campaign. These include distributing food baskets, blankets, heating appliances, clothing for impoverished families, and bedding for orphans. The initiative also features complete packages designed to warm families and orphans, thereby ensuring their safety and warmth throughout the winter—a direct response to the urgent humanitarian needs within these communities.

Financial Commitment and Allocation

This year, the society has allocated an overall budget of 15 million dirhams for the Winter of Compassion 2026 campaign, specifically targeting humanitarian aid for residents in the Gaza Strip. This financial commitment is divided among three primary projects: six million dirhams earmarked for providing urgent medicines, another six million for food supplies, and three million for emergency tents.

Coordination and Additional Projects

Efforts are currently underway to coordinate with relevant authorities to finalize arrangements for the distribution of aid and to implement these projects effectively. Abdullah emphasized the importance of addressing immediate humanitarian needs and alleviating the suffering of affected families during the winter months.

Moreover, the campaign goes beyond direct winter necessities by incorporating additional humanitarian and developmental projects. These initiatives include constructing and furnishing homes for impoverished families and orphans, providing shelter for refugees, illuminating homes of those in need, and offering baby supplies—all aimed at improving living conditions and fostering stability among targeted communities.

Through the Winter of Compassion 2026 campaign, Dar Al Ber Society continues to demonstrate its commitment to humanitarian aid and community support, striving to uplift those in dire need as winter approaches.
