Dubai’s Creative Economy: A Global Hub for Content Production

In a recent statement to “Al-Bayan,” Majid Al Suwaidi, the First Vice President of TECOM Group in Dubai’s Media City, Studio City, and Production City, highlighted Dubai’s ongoing commitment to establishing itself as a global hub for content production. The emirate is leveraging continuous investments in advanced infrastructure, attracting global talent, and accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies.

This commitment to innovation in the media sector was underscored this morning with the commencement of the “CABSAT” summit at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, part of the third day of the 33rd edition of the region’s leading event in content, media technology, and professional audio-visual solutions. This coincided with the second edition of the “SAT Expo,” which focuses on advanced satellite technologies.

A Comprehensive Platform

Both events gather a diverse range of companies, experts, and specialists from around the globe in one comprehensive platform that encompasses various stages of the content production cycle. This includes everything from production and post-production to broadcasting, satellite management, distribution, communications, space technology, and professional audio-visual solutions.

Wrapping up tomorrow, “CABSAT” and “SAT Expo” reflect the growing interconnectivity between media, communication, and space sectors, alongside the increasing role of technology in reshaping the future of content production and media services. “CABSAT 2026” will be held in strategic partnership with Dubai Studio City, while the UAE Space Agency serves as a strategic partner for “SAT Expo,” further solidifying Dubai’s role as a unifying platform for technology, media, and space.

Accelerating Development

Al Suwaidi pointed out that the rapid evolution in the media sector necessitates ongoing investment in innovation and technology, creating new opportunities for creators and producers to develop content that is more diverse and competitive on a global scale. He noted that providing modern studios and enhancing content production capabilities using LED screen technology, alongside a growing base of global creative talent in Dubai, significantly contributes to local content production and supports the growth of the creative economy in the emirate.

He elaborated that innovation continues to reshape the media, broadcasting, and entertainment sectors, opening new growth opportunities for companies and creative talents across different stages of the value chain.

A Holistic Media Ecosystem

Al Suwaidi added that Dubai Studio City provides an integrated media ecosystem and specialised infrastructure, offering media companies and content creators an environment that supports innovation, production, and expansion. This further establishes Dubai as a global destination for the creative economy.

He affirmed that the strategic partnership with “CABSAT 2026” presents a significant opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaboration among leading specialists and industry pioneers within the media sector. Hosting these events comes at a pivotal moment for the global media industry, which is experiencing swift transformations driven by artificial intelligence, immersive technologies, evolving broadcast platforms, and changing audience behaviours—making Dubai a vibrant space for creatives, technology companies, and investors to explore new growth opportunities in the content industry, both regionally and globally.
