In a significant development aimed at bolstering energy security in Germany and Europe, XRG, ADNOC, and the German company SIVI have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore collaborative opportunities within the natural gas and LNG (liquefied natural gas) value chains. This initiative underscores the commitment of these enterprises to deliver reliable and competitive energy supplies to the region.
The MoU builds upon the existing partnership between the three parties, combining ADNOC’s robust supply capabilities with XRG’s diverse international supplies. This collaboration aims to strengthen the stable relationships among ADNOC, XRG, and SIVI.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and CEO of ADNOC and its group of companies, and Executive Chairman of XRG, remarked, “Thanks to the vision, guidance, and support of our wise leadership, the UAE has successfully established itself as a key global partner for the international community in various vital sectors that enhance energy security and stimulate growth and progress.”
Key Areas of Cooperation
Under the terms of the agreement, the partners will explore collaborating in four main areas. The first area focuses on enhancing energy security and supply flexibility for Germany and Europe, leveraging the integrated capabilities of ADNOC and XRG in both gas and LNG sectors. Additionally, the parties will investigate market development and long-term growth opportunities while promoting the flexibility of energy markets.
The collaboration will also enhance the reliability of supply chains by utilising the assets, infrastructure, and integrated capabilities of the partners. Another focal area is the identification and development of investment opportunities in critical energy infrastructure projects. Furthermore, the companies will look into improving portfolio management and shipping movements.
