In a significant recognition of the strategic importance of Khorfakkan and its port, Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) has named one of its vessels “ESL KHORFAKKAN.” This move underscores the company’s longstanding relationship with the port dating back to March 2019, when Khorfakkan welcomed the inaugural voyage of ESL’s GALEX (GLX) service. Since then, the port has played an essential role within ESL’s shipping network.

Moreover, in August, Khorfakkan welcomed the “BYD Changsha,” which arrived with 6,068 new energy vehicles from China, marking a direct maritime route.
