Dubai Police Enhances Employee Capabilities in Initiative Management
The General Command of Dubai Police has successfully organised a specialised training course in initiative management in collaboration with the Project Management Institute. This programme is part of their ongoing efforts to develop institutional capabilities and enhance specialised competencies in managing initiatives, following best practices and global methodologies.
Under the guidance of Major General Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Mulla, Director of the General Department of Excellence and Leadership, the course was attended by Colonel Ahmed Al Hafiti, Director of the Initiatives and Projects Department, at the Dubai Aviation Security Centre, with relevant employees from the projects division.
Colonel Ahmed Al Hafiti emphasised that the collaboration with the institute aims to reinforce professional partnerships and leverage global expertise, contributing to the advancement of initiative management and increasing the readiness of qualified personnel to lead initiatives effectively and efficiently. He praised the fruitful cooperation with the institute, which aligns with the memorandum of understanding established between the two entities.
The course covered a comprehensive range of topics related to the phases of initiative management. It began with clarifying the concept of an initiative and differentiating it from projects, processes, and improvements. Participants explored opportunities, the construction of initiatives, stakeholder management, impact measurement, and the sustainability of implementation.
This initiative also provided participants with the chance to benefit from specialised professional practices in project management, enhancing their ability to handle initiatives methodically by linking objectives to outcomes and institutional impact.
