On 26 July 2026, the Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing launched an initiative titled “Our Generations in the Field 2,” designed specifically for the children of its personnel. This initiative is part of the Family Year initiatives aimed at bringing youngsters closer to their parents’ work environment and highlighting the critical nature of the roles their parents perform in serving the community. The programme seeks to strengthen family ties and instil a sense of belonging, pride, and reverence for law enforcement duties.
Engaging Family Participation
Brigadier Pilot Saeed Salem Al Marar, Director of the Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing, emphasised that this initiative reflects the commitment of the Abu Dhabi Police to reinforce the concept of family as a partner in the journey towards success. By allowing employees’ children insight into their parents’ work, it not only highlights the dedication and efforts involved in fulfilling their national and humanitarian duties but also enhances feelings of pride and responsibility among the younger generation.
Active Learning Experience
The programme featured a variety of engaging and interactive activities. It commenced with a morning briefing with the pilots, giving participants an overview of the daily preparations and operational tasks that precede aerial missions. The initiative also included a visit to the drone storage facility, where attendees learned about different types of drones and their applications in supporting security operations.
Hands-On Flight Simulation
Participants then had the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on experiences with flight simulation equipment for drones in a safe and interactive educational environment. This practical engagement helped to solidify their understanding of modern aviation technology and its critical role in law enforcement.
Concluding Visits
The initiative concluded with a visit to the aircraft hangar, where the children explored the aircraft used for aerial missions. This visit offered an up-close look at the machinery that plays an integral role in ensuring community safety.
This initiative not only provided children with valuable insights into the important work carried out by their parents but also fostered a deeper appreciation for the responsibilities borne by those in the law enforcement sector. (WAM)
