Dubai Police has stepped up cooperation with the real estate sector to strengthen safety in residential communities, bringing together government and industry stakeholders at a forum focused on prevention, awareness and coordinated action.
Forum brings together security and property sector partners
The General Command of Dubai Police, represented by the Crime Reduction Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, organised the “Residential Communities Security” forum at the Police Officers Club.
The event was attended by officers and representatives from the Security Industry Regulatory Agency, Dubai Land Department and the Real Estate Regulatory Agency in Dubai, as well as 160 participants from property development companies, joint property management firms, residential community managers and a number of strategic partners.
The forum forms part of Dubai Police efforts to enhance cooperation with the entities concerned with residential communities, unify security efforts, activate the role of partners in crime prevention, and spread security awareness among members of society.
Platform for coordination and exchange of experience
Dubai Police said the forum serves as a platform for exchanging expertise and discussing challenges linked to the security of residential communities, while strengthening coordination between security bodies, property developers and joint property management companies.
This, the force said, supports the development of joint working mechanisms and helps raise the level of prevention.
Preventive measures and awareness against fraud
The forum also reviewed preventive procedures that contribute to reducing crime within residential communities, while highlighting the role of community management teams in raising awareness among residents, particularly about cyber fraud offences such as fake links, fraudulent calls and impersonation of official entities.
It was also stressed that awareness messages should be shared through the communication channels used by residential communities, and that personal or banking data should not be shared with untrusted parties.
Residents were encouraged to report any attempted fraud or suspicious behaviour through Dubai Police’s official channels.
