Sharjah Customs Launches a Logistics Corridor with Oman

Sharjah Customs has announced the launch of a new logistics corridor in collaboration with Oman, aimed at enhancing regional trade movement and facilitating supply chains. This project represents a strategic step to strengthen the economic partnership between the UAE and Oman by providing flexible and rapid logistical routes that address changing market needs. The corridor will enable seamless movement and shipping between ports, reflecting the quality and efficiency of the services provided in this field.

Continuous Facilitation to Enhance Trade

On May 17, 2026, the first shipments were sent to Sohar Port through the Khatmat Milaha crossing, coinciding with collaborative efforts with Oman Customs. This new logistics corridor contributes to enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of supply chains at the regional level while offering diverse logistical options for businesses. The operation includes a range of Omani ports, including Sohar Port, which is strategically located near the UAE.

Integrated Logistics System

This initiative is part of the integrated logistics system of the Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zones Authority, focusing on the integration of its maritime infrastructure. The corridor relies on key centers such as Khorfakkan Port, which serves as a strategic hub for shipping and handling operations. The logistics corridor enhances the integration of maritime and land transport, expanding market access while maintaining the flexibility of the logistics system.

Efficient Shipment Reception

The first shipments have begun moving from Khalid Port in Sharjah to Sohar Port, passing through the Khatmat Milaha crossing. This confirms the readiness of the corridor and reflects the efficiency of the integration between maritime and land transport. Thanks to this corridor, customs clearance procedures can be completed directly at border crossings, facilitating the shipping process and accelerating the release of goods. The system also relies on data exchange and joint coordination between the two parties, enhancing the efficiency of operational processes.

Opening New Horizons for the Trade Sector

The logistics corridor represents a new starting point for supporting import and export operations, enabling companies to access new markets more efficiently. It also enhances the flow of goods arriving from Sohar Port to local markets in the UAE, contributing to improved supply chains. The commitment of both parties to the highest international standards for security and safety makes this corridor reliable and enhances the competitive edge of the trade sector.

In light of these developments, the launch of the logistics corridor by Sharjah Customs underscores the depth of economic relations between the UAE and Oman, highlighting the need to develop an integrated logistics network that enhances trade movement and ensures its continuity with high efficiency.
