Sharjah Social Empowerment Unveils Inspiring Ramadan Initiative Zaki

In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing social welfare, the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation has launched its Ramadan campaign titled “Zakki.” This initiative promotes the concept of zakat as a sustainable empowerment tool, improving the quality of life for orphaned families connected to the foundation. Through various economic and humanitarian projects, “Zakki” seeks to achieve stability and forge a safer future for beneficiary families, establishing a vital connection between philanthropy and lasting social impact.

The General Director of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, Mona Bin Hada Al-Suwaidi, noted that the foundation will support a total of 2,387 families and 5,471 orphans in the upcoming years of 2024 and 2025. The campaign is rooted in a vision that emphasizes zakat’s role beyond temporary aid, viewing it as an effective means to create positive, long-term changes. The foundation strategically allocates zakat funds within an institutional framework focused on sustainable planning and impact, preserving the dignity of beneficiaries while fostering self-reliance. This approach transforms giving into real opportunities for social growth and stability.

Al-Suwaidi reiterated the foundation’s commitment to managing zakat funds with the utmost transparency and social responsibility. She highlighted that the “Zakki” campaign is designed to ensure the stability of these families while providing them with genuine empowerment opportunities, far removed from temporary solutions. The campaign embodies a comprehensive concept of smart giving, integrating institutional expertise, sustainable planning, and humanitarian impact to ensure that zakat becomes a powerful agent of positive change, contributing to a more stable future for beneficiaries.

This Ramadan, the campaign encompasses several projects, including the “Zakat of Wealth” initiative, which aims to support sustainable programs and initiatives that promote family independence. Furthermore, the “Iftar” project provides a warm Ramadan atmosphere, bringing together children and their families, while the “Ramadan Essentials” initiative addresses basic needs during the holy month. The campaign also features the “Ramadan Empowerment Nights,” which offer social experiences that strengthen community ties and participation among families.

In her concluding remarks, Al-Suwaidi urged community members to engage in the “Zakki” campaign and direct their zakat contributions towards achieving a sustainable impact. She emphasized that participating in the campaign represents a genuine societal partnership that contributes to building a more stable future for orphans and their families. The true value of giving lies in its depth, effect, and continuity, turning zakat into a lasting influence that positively impacts the lives of fatherless children and their families, enhancing pathways to empowerment and stability well beyond Ramadan.
