This article delves into how the addition of 653 new companies in Dubai South during 2025 significantly contributed to the business landscape, demonstrating the project’s robust ecosystem and its ability to foster balanced growth across various operational sectors.

Strong Growth in Business Activity

Diving deeper into the numbers, Dubai South attracted 653 new companies in 2025, pushing the total number of operational companies beyond 4,200. This impressive influx of new businesses is coupled with a remarkable retention rate of 90% among existing firms, illustrating a clear indicator of sustainable growth. The expansion of the commercial licensing sector witnessed a notable 65% increase compared to the previous year, signaling a diversification of economic activities within the Dubai South framework.

Real Estate Developments

The real estate sector also flourished, with Dubai South Properties completing the delivery of its ambitious “The Pulse Beach” project, featuring 800 residential units. This development plays a crucial role in bolstering the housing supply in the area. Looking ahead to 2026, plans are in motion for the delivery of approximately 1,300 residential units across projects such as “South Bay” and “South Living.” Additionally, the launch of notable residential complexes like “Hayat,” “Beach Gate,” and “South Square” met with high demand, achieving full sales and highlighting the growing appetite for integrated communities in Dubai South.

Enhancing Quality of Life

To further improve the quality of life in the region, Dubai South Properties unveiled “South Bay Mall,” the first shopping and entertainment destination in the residential area, offering 200,000 square feet of space. This addition provides a unique blend of shopping, dining, and recreational experiences. The logistics sector in Dubai South maintained its strong performance throughout 2025, marked by the opening of key facilities for global companies, including “Expeditors,” Ford’s parts distribution center, and DHL’s Innovation Center.

Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises

In a bid to support small and medium enterprises, Dubai South launched multi-user facilities that provide flexible infrastructure in strategic locations conducive to growth. Meanwhile, “EZDubai,” designated for e-commerce activities within Dubai South, continued to play a pivotal role in bolstering the nation’s e-commerce ecosystem. As the market value for e-commerce in the UAE is projected to reach AED 32.3 billion by 2024, initiatives in Dubai South are aligning well with this trend.

A Milestone Year for Aviation

Turning to the aviation sector, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aviation City had a successful year, marked by strategic agreements with industry leaders such as Avia Solutions Group, one of the largest global providers of aircraft services, along with partnerships with Aetherion Aerospace, UUDS, and Al-Futtaim Group. New facilities were inaugurated for companies like Satis and Team Aerospace, while GE Aerospace announced the groundbreaking of a dedicated aircraft maintenance and support services facility within the project. To cater to rising demand in aviation services, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aviation City also introduced new facilities, including a dedicated “Aircraft Maintenance Services Hub” and a “Private Aviation Boulevard” aimed at attracting top global airlines and luxury retail brands.

Nabil Al-Kindi, Executive Director of Dubai South, emphasized that the results of 2025 reflect the strength of the integrated ecosystem that Dubai South boasts and the company’s commitment to supporting the growth of the aviation, logistics, and real estate sectors. He noted, “The influx of new global companies, along with high stability rates among operating firms, underscores the trust that Dubai South commands as a strategic business hub.” Al-Kindi added that the forthcoming phase will see a continuous focus on developing world-class infrastructure to facilitate sustainable growth, contributing to the vision of leadership to enhance Dubai’s position as a global center for economics and aviation.

With its ambitions set high, Dubai South remains poised to create a vibrant community that capitalizes on its unique offerings and services in aviation, logistics, real estate, and infrastructure solutions. The robust growth indicated by the addition of 653 new companies in Dubai South during 2025 lays the groundwork for a dynamic future in one of the world’s largest urban projects.
