The Importance of the Blue Economy
The forum shed light on the blue economy as a necessary environmental concern and an emerging sector, encompassing oceans, seas, rivers, and groundwater. This focus is particularly vital given the increasing pressures on freshwater resources and marine systems due to climate change. The event facilitated a platform for global leaders to discuss innovations in water management, sustainable shipping, and coastal infrastructure, linking commercial interests, investment, and sustainability agendas.
Throughout Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, the International Chinese Businessmen’s Union hosted a variety of engaging activities. Highlights included a sustainable fashion show curated by Alice Ho, featuring designers from the UAE, UK, Hungary, China, Italy, and Lebanon, as well as a photography exhibit on climate and sustainability.
