In a significant move towards enhancing taxpayer awareness, the Federal Tax Authority has successfully engaged 28,000 beneficiaries through 85 educational events over a span of six months. This initiative underscores the commitment to improving communication with stakeholders and expanding the reach of tax-related services across the United Arab Emirates. As the authority continues to innovate its outreach methods, these educational activities play a crucial role in fostering a better understanding of tax obligations and services.

Growth in Educational Initiatives

The Federal Tax Authority has reaffirmed its intent to diversify and enhance its educational campaigns aimed at reaching all relevant segments concerning tax applications. The recent report highlights a marked increase in tax awareness events, with 85 initiatives held in the first half of the year, a notable rise from 70 events during the same period in 2024. This increase of over 21% signifies the authority’s ongoing efforts to diminish knowledge gaps in tax-related areas.

Virtual and In-Person Events

Throughout these six months, the authority conducted 53 remote events compared to 43 virtual outreach programs during the first half of 2024. Additionally, while 24 in-person events took place, this is slightly lower than the 27 conducted in the same timeframe of the previous year. Such a balanced approach ensures a broad spectrum of engagement opportunities for participants, catering to various preferences and circumstances.

Community Engagement and Feedback

The Federal Tax Authority is committed to enhancing its contribution towards the second iteration of the Government Bureaucracy Zero Program. This initiative emphasizes digital integration with relevant entities to continuously improve the digital experience for users. Moreover, community feedback is vital; the authority frequently organizes consultative meetings with business representatives across Emirates to gather insights and suggestions regarding its initiatives aimed at streamlining tax procedures.

Emphasis on Continuous Improvement

According to Zahra Al-Dahmani, the Director of Taxpayer Services at the Federal Tax Authority, the organization is actively pursuing diverse channels for educational outreach based on evolving requirements. This includes involving business sectors in shaping future service enhancement strategies, ensuring that efficiency, quality, and flexibility remain paramount. New educational initiatives, such as the “Tax Sciences” workshops, have been particularly beneficial, with 72 participants taking part. Furthermore, sessions on “Tax Certificates” attracted 1,330 participants, highlighting the ongoing demand for such informative programs.

As part of the continued educational efforts, the authority has conducted six workshops focused on the “Emirates Tax” digital services platform, benefiting a significant 2,044 participants. Additional sessions on “Tax Updates” attracted 1,824 attendees, reflecting the community’s interest in staying informed about evolving tax regulations.
