40,000 Participants Highlight Abu Dhabi Finance Week’s Impact

Abu Dhabi is gearing up to host the upcoming Financial Week from December 7 to 10, 2026, with expectations of attracting around 40,000 participants. According to Chris Hughes, the editor-in-chief and director of the event, this iteration promises to be a significant gathering of financial leaders and stakeholders.

Major Participation and Global Financial Impact

Speaking at the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) Media Forum, Hughes highlighted that the CEOs and institutional leaders attending the Financial Week collectively manage assets worth an astonishing $60 to $70 trillion. This substantial figure accounts for more than 50% of the global GDP, underscoring the importance of the event in the financial sector.

A Unique Gathering of Financial Leaders

Hughes described the convergence of these high-calibre professionals at a single location during the year’s end as an exceptional opportunity for financial leaders worldwide. The event is part of a broader programme of activities taking place in Abu Dhabi, which Hughes suggested is one of the best times of the year to visit the emirate.

Anticipated Growth and Future Outlook

The Financial Week is recognised as a crucial occasion for business and financial professionals globally. Hughes noted that this year’s event reflects notable growth compared to previous years, with the Financial Week having evolved into one of the top five financial events worldwide since its inception just five years ago.

According to Hughes, this year’s event will feature more than 1,000 speakers, up from over 810 in 2025 and more than 600 in 2024. Participants can expect over 400 sessions in total, surpassing the 350 sessions held last year and the 290 in 2024. Furthermore, there will be more than 80 scheduled events, compared to over 70 in 2025 and 60 in 2024.

A Platform for Reflection and Vision

As the year comes to a close, this gathering offers industry leaders a platform to reflect on the events of 2026 and contemplate the future as they look ahead to 2027, particularly in a time marked by numerous global challenges.

With its rapid ascent as a major financial hub, Abu Dhabi is poised to solidify its position among the world’s leading financial centres, making the Financial Week an event of vital importance for anyone involved in the global finance and business sectors.
