In 2025, the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) made significant strides in enhancing its appeal as a prime destination for investors and businesses, welcoming an impressive influx of 19,000 new companies. This growth is not just a statistic; it underscores RAKEZ’s commitment to fostering a robust business ecosystem that attracts a diverse range of companies from around the globe. The expansion of its community to over 40,000 companies affirms RAKEZ’s role as a pivotal player in the UAE’s economic landscape.
Unprecedented Growth in Business Community
The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), established in April 2017, has solidified its position as a leading supporter of investment and business in the United Arab Emirates. As of 2025, the organization has successfully expanded its business community by attracting approximately 19,000 new companies. This marks a remarkable increase of 44% compared to the previous year, demonstrating the growing attractiveness of Ras Al Khaimah as a business formation hub.
Investment Value and Incentives
RAKEZ’s CEO, Rami Jallad, remarked on the significance of this growth, noting that the influx of new companies not only represents quantitative expansion but also highlights the increasing allure of Ras Al Khaimah as a business destination. The advantages provided by RAKEZ include operational flexibility, expedited procedures, competitive costs, and ease of market access, offering practical value to investors. “These numbers reflect our success in providing an attractive environment for businesses,” Jallad stated.
Diverse Business Sectors Driving Success
Notably, the growth was largely fueled by various licenses related to services, which accounted for 40% of all new companies in 2025. Following this, commercial and general trade licenses made up 33%, while e-commerce continued to show a strong presence, contributing 17%. Additional sectors such as general trade, online product transactions, project management consultations, information technology, lifestyle development, marketing services, and transaction facilitation emerged prominently during the year.
Geographic Distribution of New Investors
Jallad also pointed out the geographical distribution of the new investors, revealing India as a dominant market for newcomers, accounting for 33% of the new businesses. Pakistan and the United Kingdom followed, with contributions of 8% and 7%, respectively. This data illustrates the international appeal of RAKEZ and its capacity to attract a diverse array of global entrepreneurs looking to establish their presence in the UAE.
The impressive addition of 19,000 new companies in 2025 reflects a proactive approach to enhancing the investment landscape in Ras Al Khaimah, reiterating RAKEZ’s status as an economic powerhouse in the region.
