The recent graduation of 10 Emirati professionals from the “Sund” program marks a significant milestone in the development of skilled experts in the security sector of the UAE. In a celebratory event, the Ports and Customs Authority, in collaboration with DP World, proudly announced the graduation of 10 Emirati employees from its foundational program, “Sund.” This program not only develops skills but also prepares participants to tackle challenges specific to the intricate landscape of security. The graduating cohort included five professionals from the Ports and Customs Authority and five from DP World, all of whom successfully completed the rigorous 18-month training program with a perfect completion rate of 100%.
Abdullah bin Dmeithan, the head of the Ports and Customs Authority, articulated the strategic importance of nurturing Emirati talent, stating, “Preparing Emirati competencies to protect the country’s vital infrastructure is a strategic priority. The ‘Sund’ program represents a significant investment in developing specialized national capabilities, contributing to the resilience and security of the UAE’s ports, trade, and logistics services.” He emphasized the dedication and professionalism displayed by the graduates throughout the intensive training process.
Echoing this sentiment, Eissa Kazim, Chairman of DP World, remarked, “Our partnership in the ‘Sund’ program highlights the importance of integrating the efforts of national institutions with academic and security entities to prepare Emirati personnel who possess a comprehensive understanding of operations in ports, terminals, and logistics services.” The collaborative approach underscores the commitment to equip UAE nationals with the necessary skills to excel in a dynamic work environment.
