UAE Leads the Way in Global Artificial Intelligence Adoption

In a recent declaration, Minister of Cabinet Affairs Muhammad Abdullah Al-Qurqaoui emphasized that the UAE stands out as one of the most prepared and mature nations globally in adopting artificial intelligence (AI). This advancement reflects the Emirati leadership’s vision to transform government operations through the integration of AI technologies into service design, policies, and procedures. Such initiatives not only streamline governmental workflows but also position the UAE as a front-runner in embracing future changes.

The Vision for AI Integration

During a workshop focused on assisted AI, organized by the Presidential Court and the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs in Dubai, Al-Qurqaoui outlined the objectives for the upcoming phase of government transformation that leverages assisted AI. The session brought together 600 employees from both entities to discuss strategies for enhancing government efficiency, improving service quality, and expediting decision-making processes. The minister noted that directives from the leadership aim to convert 50% of governmental operations into AI-supported frameworks over the next two years, marking a pivotal strategy in reshaping government efficacy and productivity.

A Paradigm Shift in Government Operations

Al-Qurqaoui highlighted the global shift powered by AI applications, underscoring the UAE’s proactive vision and early investments that have positioned it favorably on the world stage for adopting these transformative technologies. “Assisted AI does not replace humans; it augments their capabilities, opening broader horizons for creativity, innovation, and impact,” he stated. He emphasized that the adoption of assisted AI marks a new era for government operations, redefining how services and policies are executed and ensuring a swift response to changing circumstances.

Comprehensive Government Transformation Plan

The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs unveiled a comprehensive plan for adopting assisted AI, which integrates intelligent technologies into core processes and specialized tasks. Haitham Al-Rais, Secretary-General of the National Project for Assisted AI, presented key objectives centered on enhancing operational efficiency, improving output quality, and allowing employees to focus on value-added tasks. The plan aims to boost work performance, elevate information reliability, and support decision-making, all while preparing personnel to utilize assisted AI tools effectively.

Engaging with Global Partners

The workshop featured interactive sessions with renowned global partners in advanced technology, including the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence. These sessions covered seven specialized paths aimed at accelerating the integration of assisted AI in government workplaces. Al-Qurqaoui also announced the launch of the “Top 3 AI Assistants” award within the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs to drive innovation and develop quality solutions that enhance governmental efficiency and the impact of assisted AI applications across various sectors.

With its ambitious initiatives and commitment to advanced technology, the UAE is not only steering towards adopting assisted AI but is also setting a global benchmark in government modernization. The government’s resounding focus on leveraging these sophisticated tools underscores its dedication to evolving into a more responsive and efficient administrative framework that catalyzes progress for its citizens and society at large.
