The Emirates Association for the Care of Parents continues to make significant strides in supporting the Emirati family throughout 2026, the Year of the Family. This year, the organization has implemented over 30 initiatives aimed at reinforcing familial bonds and fostering values of kindness and giving within the community. Through collaborations with 35 supportive entities from governmental, private, and community sectors, more than 3,000 individuals, including seniors, families, and children, have benefited from these initiatives, while 2,000 participants engaged in various events and programs under this umbrella.
Empowering the Emirati Family
According to Nasreen Ali Darwish, a board member and head of the administrative body of the Dubai branch, these initiatives are well-aligned with the objectives of the 2026 Year of the Family, which aims to enhance family cohesion, empower seniors, and improve the overall quality of life for Emirati families. The Emirates Association for the Care of Parents has prioritized launching diverse initiatives that have a direct and lasting impact on the community.
Key Initiatives and Community Impact
Among the standout programs are the “Parents Planting” initiative, senior citizen outings, and visits to Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, particularly its oncology department. The association also organized events focusing on nurturing respect for the elderly, providing workshops directed at older mothers. Furthermore, the Emirates Association for the Care of Parents actively participated in multiple national and community events, including the “Proudly Emirati” march and an awards ceremony to honor members. Notably, seniors also engaged in the “Made in the Emirates” exhibition, along with various activities at Al Warqa’a and Al Rashidiya.
Humanitarian Efforts During Ramadan
During the holy month of Ramadan, the association launched extensive humanitarian initiatives. These efforts included distributing 600 Ramadan food packages to needy families and participating in the “Spirit of the Neighborhood” initiative, which provided daily iftar meals. Seasonal projects, such as the “My Family Basket” and festive activities for Eid al-Adha, were also part of the agenda. One of these initiatives, the “Eid Gathering” for senior parents, was organized alongside children’s celebrations and efforts to welcome and fare the pilgrims.
This impactful approach by the Emirates Association for the Care of Parents underscores its commitment to the welfare and happiness of Emirati families. The ongoing projects are not merely charitable acts but also vital connections that enhance the community’s social fabric, demonstrating the association’s pivotal role in the shared vision for a harmonious and supportive society.
