Sharjah Chamber Strengthens Supply Chains to Empower Private Sector

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry reaffirms its commitment to enhancing supply chains and supporting the private sector, continuing its efforts to improve the business environment and foster company growth in the emirate. In a recent meeting, the Chamber highlighted the importance of the integrated supply network connecting Sharjah’s ports with the ports of Oman, noting that it is a fundamental pillar for enhancing trade efficiency and strengthening the private sector.

Enhancing the Business Environment

During the meeting, chaired by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, participants reviewed the strategic initiatives launched by the Sharjah Chamber, as well as the achievements made since the beginning of 2023. The number of registered memberships in the Chamber has increased from 72,000 to over 80,000, reflecting the Chamber’s commitment to supporting the private sector and enhancing supply chains.

Sustainable Economic Vision

Al Owais referred to the positive impact of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, which aims to build a sustainable and diversified economy. This vision has contributed to improving the efficiency of planning and implementing developmental projects, thereby supporting the Chamber’s efforts to empower the private sector in strengthening supply chains in the region.

Expanding International Economic Relations

His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi reviewed the achievements made by employees over the past three years, during which 30 memoranda of understanding were signed with local and international entities, and over 80 business forums were organized. This expansion in relations is a significant step in supporting the private sector and enhancing its efficiency, as well as achieving the economic goals of the emirate.

Innovative Initiatives to Support the Private Sector

The Sharjah Chamber continues to develop mechanisms for cooperation between the public and private sectors, having organized numerous meetings with sectoral working groups. Additionally, 90 recommendations related to developing supply chains have been established, underscoring the Chamber’s commitment to supporting the private sector and enhancing its capacity to adapt to economic changes.

The new logistics corridor, which is part of the Chamber’s ambitious strategy, will play a pivotal role in improving supply chains and enhancing the competitiveness of Sharjah companies on both regional and international levels. Through this collaboration, the Chamber aims to open new horizons for companies to expand their operations, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to providing the necessary support for the private sector.
