In an exciting development for the tech landscape, the Emirates Group is organizing the third edition of “فرصة تك,” marking a milestone in innovation and collaboration. This annual event showcases cutting-edge technological partnerships and aspiring startups while fostering inspiring discussions among industry leaders. By focusing on the transformative potential of artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet of Things, “فرصة تك” aims to redefine the aviation sector and elevate the role of human capital in harnessing these advancements.

Opening Ceremony Led by Visionary Leaders

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the President of Emirates Airlines and Group CEO, inaugurated the third edition of “فرصة تك.” The event was graced by the presence of Her Excellency Sara Al Amiri, Minister of Education, alongside various senior executives from the Emirates Group. Held at the group’s headquarters, this annual forum highlights not only advanced technological partnerships but also emerging talents that are developing innovative concepts poised to drive significant change.

Focus on Innovation and Human-Centric Solutions

The central themes of this year’s forum underscored how AI, robotics, and IoT are set to reshape the aviation industry, emphasizing the pivotal role of human workers in adopting and maximizing the efficacy of these technologies. Sheikh Ahmed stated that based on the success of the past two editions, “فرصة تك 2025” embodies the Emirates Group’s ongoing commitment to embedding the next wave of innovations into its operations. It aims to expand existing innovative solutions and support startups while building an effective experimental environment to test new solutions that propel its digital journey.

Innovative Solutions and Initiatives on Display

This year’s edition showcased over 40 presentations of internal innovations and strategic external partnerships, covering various stages of the innovation pathway, from preliminary research and prototypes to proof-of-concept experiments and completed projects ready for scaling. Notable initiatives included advanced autonomous robots from “Transguard” and “Emirates Group Security,” aimed at enhancing safety and security in urban environments, as well as a drone system from “Dnata Cargo” for inventory verification.

Additionally, cutting-edge technologies such as 3D modeling and on-demand manufacturing for spare parts from “Dnata” were presented. AI-driven aircraft analysis systems and resource distribution optimization were featured within “Emirates Airport Services,” alongside other innovations designed to boost efficiency and customer experience.

Inclusivity and Accessibility in Technology

The experimentation zone highlighted several access facilitation initiatives, including the “Glidance” device, designed for safe and autonomous mobility for visually impaired individuals, and the sensory media chair “JeffCAN,” which combines sensory design and technology to support neurodiverse passengers. Furthermore, the Airbus inclusive cabin was showcased, equipped with facilities for individuals with limited mobility, including specialized wheelchairs on board.

In the domain of maintenance and engineering, a platform utilizing AI and computer vision for rapid and accurate engine part detection was demonstrated. Augmented reality enhanced maintenance workflows using “Apple Vision Pro” to improve visual imagery of brake components and wheels, alongside drone inspections for precise and swift external aircraft checks.

An Inspiring Opening Address

Her Excellency Sara Al Amiri delivered the opening keynote at “فرصة تك 2025,” focusing on “The Impact of Technology on Public Education,” reflecting the UAE’s integration of AI technologies across various educational stages. Her address aimed to prepare young generations to engage with a rapidly changing world and solidify the UAE’s position as a key global player in AI.

The program featured a series of inspiring talks and discussions led by a selection of global experts in technology. During the event, the Emirates Group unveiled the “Ideas” application, an internal digital platform that empowers all employees across various locations and roles to contribute executable new ideas. The winning idea presented at the event focused on automating the visa verification process for customers, alleviating a source of complications they may encounter during their travels.
