The UAE is poised to remain a pivotal hub for creativity and a nurturing ground for talent, demonstrating a commitment to fostering innovation across various fields. This initiative reflects the nation’s dedication to cultural development, sustainability, and global collaboration, positioning itself firmly on the world map of artistic influence.
Commitment to Cultural Advancement
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, emphasized that the UAE is continuously reinforcing its global standing as a center for creativity and culture, while also serving as a cradle for emerging talents. He noted that the UAE will persist in its support for innovators and engage the youth, creating an environment conducive to cultural and artistic innovation. This aligns perfectly with the leadership’s vision to build a knowledge society and enhance the global presence of Emirati culture.
Honoring Emerging Talents
This commitment to nurturing creativity was evident during a recent ceremony where Sheikh Nahyan honored five winners of the Abu Dhabi Cultural and Arts Group awards, along with four recipients of its artistic residency program. This reflects the group’s unwavering commitment to supporting the new generation of creative talents in the UAE, thereby enriching the country’s cultural and creative landscape.
Sheikh Nahyan stated, “This recognition coincides with the celebration of 30 years since the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Cultural and Arts Group and its pioneering journey in fostering a culture of unity and creativity.” He praised the ambition of young Emirati winners by acknowledging their innovative contributions, which illustrate the vibrant cultural scene in the UAE and showcase the youth’s potential for innovation and excellence on both regional and global stages.
Celebrating Three Decades of Creative Support
According to Sheikh Nahyan, the achievements of the Abu Dhabi Cultural and Arts Group over the past three decades represent a national example of how to support the cultural and artistic movement in the UAE. He remarked on the importance of creating genuine platforms for discovering and honing talents, ultimately enhancing Abu Dhabi and the UAE’s status on the global cultural map. He affirmed, “Culture and the arts are fundamental pillars for building advanced societies and fostering values of dialogue, openness, and human understanding.”
Empowering Young Artists
Hudha Ibrahim Al Khamees, founder and artistic director of the Abu Dhabi Cultural and Arts Group, indicated that the awards, developed in collaboration with strategic educational partners, align with the vision to develop skills and build capacities. This initiative reflects an investment in cultural and creative industries as powerful drivers of a knowledge-based economy. Moreover, the awards and residency programs have been pivotal in enhancing the skills of young Emirati creators for nearly three decades.
This year, in partnership with Gulf Capital, Total Energies, and others, they honor talents like Badour Al Nuaimi and Abdulrahman Al Madani for their contributions to the arts and design, further embodying the UAE’s commitment to remaining a center for creativity and a haven for talent.
Fostering Global Artistic Connections
Through its artistic residency programs, the Abu Dhabi Cultural and Arts Group is committed to fostering emerging Emirati talents by providing international platforms that support creative development and cultural exchange. This initiative includes selected partnerships with leading global institutions, enabling young artists to refine their skills, expand their networks, and experience vibrant artistic communities. The recognition of creativity thus remains integral to the UAE, affirming its position as a center for creativity and a nurturing ground for talent.
As the nation continues to invest in cultural capital, it showcases its belief that “culture and the arts are foundational to the development of advanced societies,” further solidifying its role as a center for creativity and a haven for talent.
