Nakheel Awards 3 Contracts for Construction Works on ‘Palm Jebel Ali’
Nakheel, the development arm of Dubai Holding, is a leader in real estate development. Recently, the company announced the awarding of three major contracts exceeding 750 million dirhams for construction works on the ‘Palm Jebel Ali’ project, which are scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026.
Significant Contracts for DBB Contracting
The contracts awarded to DBB Contracting signify notable progress in the development of ‘Palm Jebel Ali’, as DBB has extensive experience executing previous projects on the island, including the construction of public roads and other building works. These contracts are viewed as a crucial step in a larger plan to establish this waterfront destination as one of Dubai’s prominent landmarks.
Ambitious Project to Make Dubai a Global Destination
The ‘Palm Jebel Ali’ project is among the most ambitious initiatives undertaken by Nakheel, aiming to set new standards for waterfront living. This project will significantly contribute to Dubai’s development over the coming years and aligns with the objectives of Dubai’s economic agenda (D33). It embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to enhance Dubai’s position as the best city for living and working.
Reactions from Leaders in the Public and Private Sectors
Khaled Al Malik, CEO of Dubai Holding, expressed pride in the project, stating, “The massive ‘Palm Jebel Ali’ project embodies Dubai’s ambition to redefine luxury living on the global waterfront.” He emphasized the importance of collaboration with DBB Contracting, noting its impressive track record and quality, which will contribute to the project’s success.
Eugène Patrick Terbilanchi, General Manager of DBB, affirmed the company’s pride in participating in this major project and expressed eagerness to achieve success by leveraging the company’s expertise and commitment to excellence.
Scope of Construction Works and Future Expansions
The scope of work for the comprehensive infrastructure on ‘Palm Jebel Ali’ includes utility connections, excavation, and filling, as well as the construction of roads and sidewalks. The project also involves developing utility extensions in the central area to support the city’s growth. The seven islands span a distance of 13.4 kilometers, featuring 16 fronds and a beach extending over 90 kilometers, enhancing access to public beaches in line with the ‘Dubai Urban Plan 2040’.
Clearly, the ‘Palm Jebel Ali’ project is not just a simple development; it is a broad vision that reflects Dubai’s ongoing ambition to offer the best to visitors and residents.
