The Emirates Smile Association for Chronic and Humanitarian Diseases has launched the “Summer Smile Caravan for Summer Camps” in partnership with the summer camps in Ras Al Khaimah and the Higher Colleges of Technology, with activities running through July and August.
The initiative forms part of the association’s efforts to promote awareness of chronic disease prevention and encourage children and young people to adopt healthy and balanced lifestyles during the summer holiday.
Promoting health awareness among young participants
Mahra Mohammed Bin Soraya, Chair of the Association’s Board of Directors, said the caravan programme aims to strengthen health awareness among children and summer camp students, and to equip them with the information and skills needed to protect their health and safety, as well as to help them respond appropriately in emergencies.
Workshops and practical activities
The programme includes a range of lectures, awareness workshops, health activities and interactive sessions covering the importance of healthy nutrition and physical activity, as well as the prevention of chronic diseases. It also introduces participants to first aid and the correct way to act when emergencies occur.
